KUANTAN: Residents in Pahang showed support and sympathy for Palestinians during a drive to collect donations for the Palestinian Fund organised by Mercy Malaysia.
Over 500 motorcycle fans on 300 bikes gathered here for the launch of the drive last week and sold items like T-shirts, stickers and flags related to the Palestinian issue.

The gathering was organised by Bikers In Islam with the cooperation of Pahang Foundation.
Bikers in Islam chairman Norhishamuddin Yacob said the bikers were from Elegant Motor Club, Pahang Motor Club and Temerloh Motor Club.

“We condemn the cruelty of Israel and urge Malaysians to boycott American products, which finance the Jewish attack on the Palestinians,” he said.
He said the money collected would be handed over to Mercy Malaysia to buy medicine and other necessities for the Palestinians.

Norhishamudin said the bikers stopped at shopping malls in Kuantan where members of the public showed strong support for the cause.
“Youths are aware of the situation in Gaza and realise they are lucky to be citizens of our country.
“Youths involved in the drive will particularly understand the importance of the peace and harmony we enjoy,” he said.
